Appraisal time followed by dreams.

I had my appraisal today at South Mimms with Richard. It’s good to look back at they year and think about the next one ahead. Seems like I’m doing a good job – always good to know!

On the way home the traffic was a nightmare (40 mins to do 3 miles!) so I popped into Lakeside, bought some stuff at Decathlon (the best sports shop ever!)grabbed a coffee at Starbucks and looked around Borders where I grabbed some things for making cards and a book on dream interpretation.

God seems to have been bugging me about dreams recently in the whole Mind Body Spirit fair setting. In the Old Testament dreams play quite a major role in a few places. I’ve been thinking that if we run a stall at a Mind Body Spirit fair here in Kent then maybe Dream Interpretation is something we could offer. While at Borders I picked up a book that looks like it says some stuff; so I’ll read it and then see how that fits with example from scripture. Maybe this is a mad and wacky idea – but I think it’s worth thinking about at the moment – even if it gets the ‘prompting’ of God off my back.

As for my current dream – at the moment that is easy! My dream is that on July 9th David Beckham lifts the world cup. Is that shallow?

  1. We did a ‘Dream Interpretation’ workshop at the College a few months back… was very interesting, and very well recieved! I don’t think it is wacky, just apposite! We broke it into three sections…Emotional Dreams – that helped us process relationships (good, bad, past and future) they tell us about ourselves and our feelings for othersPhysical Dreams – that set actual physical experiences into a narrative… e.g. dreams of falling etc.Spiritual Dreams – that introduce us to a bigger picture of some sort, that help us to set ourselves in a much bigger context… that speak deeper than emotional and the physical. This isn’t a comprehensive list obviously but just a helpful way to explore dreams. We didn’t interpret the dreams themselves but asked questions e.g. which one of the three does the dream best fit etc. and allowed the Dreamer to find meaning in the dream themselves.
