Landmark (the 14-18 group) had a ‘home and away’ weekend this weekend – a weekend away, but at home with the end away … if that makes sense! Sarah had planned an excellent weekend with the young people.
Saturday started with some team building games from the Den the survival expert with his colleagues from Weald YFC. After this, Phil the DYO, ran some worship stuff which I have heard good stuff about although had to miss as someone had to go home and be with the children!
Sunday morning was a fantastic experience that we will not forget for a long time. We traveled to Plaistow to worship at Glory House for the morning. Fantastic Pentecostal worship, a very warm and loving welcome, and powerful preaching all resulted in the young people wanting to go back again soon – always a good indication of the success of a visit!
I was particularly struck by the expectation of the people in Glory House. They expect miracles, they expect God to move, they expect people that visit them to become Christians – maybe, in this time of Lent, it would be useful to think about what I expect!
